International Studies Association Workshop Grant – “Building Institutional Capacity the Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova” – in conjunction with a group of scholars from the around the ISA, this workshop is aimed at planning for the development of a follow-on project for Ukraine, Belarus and Moldova aimed at building international affairs programs and modeled after the International Affairs Network program run by the International Management and Development Institute (IMDI), University of Pittsburgh, 2001, $11,000 (including ISA funds and matching funds from UConn IPSI).

Connecticut Collaborations for Teaching the Arts and Humanities, a partnership of the Connecticut Humanities Council and the Eisenhower Program of the Connecticut Department of Higher Education, “The Global Village Meets the Internet,” project focusing on use of simulation to teach social studies in Connecticut middle schools, 2000-2001, $25,000

International Affairs Network, Pew funded program run by the International Management and Development Institute (IMDI), University of Pittsburgh, contract to IPSI, UConn.  "Teaching Negotiation over the Internet" under the direction of Mark Boyer to develope a series of Internet-based simulations focusing on issues of relevance to Central and Eastern European colleges and universities.  Schools linked to UConn through this project are Moscow State University, Economic University Prague, Yaroslavl University (Russia) and St. Petersburg State University, 2000-2003, $42,000.
