How Do I...

...find a primary resource? Ask for assistance at the reference desk. The Dodd Research Center has over 500 manuscript and archival collections covering a wide range of subjects. A discussion with a staff member is the best way to identify materials in the collections that are appropriate to your research.

...find a book? All books are cataloged in the UConn Libraries' online catalog (HOMER--see the "Select Your Page" box above for a direct link). Any title that has a call number beginning with "Dodd" can be found in the Dodd Research Center. All patrons are required to register to use the materials in the Dodd Research Center. Please bring a photo id with you, along with the call number, when requesting to see materials in the Dodd Research Center collections.

...find an article in a magazine? Just as with books, most of the magazines in the collection have been cataloged and will be included in a search of the Libraries' catalog. Be sure to check your search results to make sure the Dodd Research Center has the actual issue that you wish to request.

...make arrangements for classroom instruction? The staff at the Dodd Research Center encourages the use of materials from the collection in classroom instruction. More information is available here.

...schedule a room in the Dodd Research Center? Information regarding rooms in the Dodd Research Center is available here.
