University of Connecticut University Libraries

The UConn Writing Center presents an interactive art show that invites the public to deconstruct and manipulate classic lines from literature, philosophy, and criticism on a big magnetic board. By moving words and punctuation around, participants can create their own, unique lines and phrases out of the work of past masters.

The results of participants’ manipulations will be displayed in the gallery throughout the show’s eight weeks. The public will begin to confront not only the classic lines themselves, but also the numerous variations that they and others have constructed.

The UConn Writing Center supports students at all stages of the writing process. Course papers, lab reports, graduate applications, and cover letters are all welcome at any of the Center’s four campus locations. See for more information.
