John Kelly’s images, unlike most art, are not
integrally related to the medium he uses. The image is on
CD; that’s the medium. But the files can be applied
to anything, from the web to sculpture, with various print
methods somewhere in between. When asked what his images
are about, he says, "It’s easiest to imagine that
I’ve created an imaginary place and that I go there
with an imaginary camera and take pictures."
Kelly was born in Maine in 1951. He received his BFA from the School of Fine Arts, University of Connecticut. He lives and works in Redding, CT. Babbidge Library, Stevens Gallery |
