Landscapes by Ed Rath
Ed Rath dedicates his artistic talent to the investigation of whatever is emotionally significant to him, using the landscape as a metaphor for his world. These large, colorful paintings are often based on real places, from childhood memories and dreams. For Mr. Rath, "paintings is a path to self-awareness, and is a way to develop an awareness of how society shapes us as individuals." He has exhibited widely throughout the country, in group shows and one-person exhibitions. Mr. Rath studied at Brighton Polytechnic Art and Design, received a BFA from Minneapolis College of Art and Design, and an MFA from Yale University. He now lives in Brooklyn, NY, with his wife and two children.
