The UConn Libraries are sponsoring access to the electronic Engineering Information Village for faculty and students at all New England land grant universities through June 1996. The pilot project is the first of what we hope will be future efforts to share the cost of making electronic resources available as a consortium.
The Ei Village, created by Engineering Information, Inc., allows immediate access to thousands of evaluated Internet engineering and related sites, as well as exclusive "Ei Spotlights" updating over 150 engineering topics weekly. Problems can be referred to "Ask a Village Engineer," "Ask Your Peers," or "Ask a Librarian." Research, business, industry, career, and other information is included. A major advantage of Ei Village is access to Ei COMPENDEX*Web, the web version of Ei COMPENDEX PLUS (the Engineering Index) from 1989+ updated weekly. Here, you can keep up-to-date with the literature, including abstracts, or conduct extensive literature searches using "assisted" or "expert" search methods.
