Documents, both printed and microfiche, will
be moved to the former Current Journals Room and adjacent
stack areas beginning in March, freeing up growth space for

Journals Backfiles from
1940-1959 will be moved to Level A, joining volumes
that already include journals published through 1939.

shelved on Level 3 with bound issues of the same title.
A small browsing collection of approximately 100
journals and newspapers will be created on Level 3.
Journal titles on microfilm will also be moved to Level

The Reference Collection,
now in excess of 50,000 volumes, has become unwieldy.
Titles no longer required in reference will be moved to the
general stacks, and outdated materials will be withdrawn.

The Dewey Decimal
Collection, currently shelved in compact
stack on level A, will be moved to the former Current
Journals Room to make it more accessible and to clear
Level A shelving for 1940-1959 bound journals being
