It Was a Very Good Day

Sunday, October 18, was blue-skied and sunshiny,
a quintessential New England fall day and
a perfect setting for the long-awaited rededication of
the restored Homer Babbidge Library.
Featured speaker Doris Kearns Goodwin
brought her special brand of informed, articulate,
entertaining and emotionally stirring commentary
to an enthusiastic audience of about 1200 people.
Formal ceremonies concluded,
the crowd adjourned to enjoy exhibits,
refreshments, music, tours, and a library that is once more
a center of university excellence--and pride.
