Women's basketball coach Geno Auriemma (right) established the Auriemma Family Endowment with a personal gift of $125,000 at a library ceremony in November. Income from the endowment, which with UConn 2000 matching funds will total $187,500, will be used to support student-oriented library services. President Philip Austin (left) and chancellor Mark Emmert (center) expressed the university's appreciation for the gift as a noteworthy example of the important link between the university's academic and athletic programs. The new plaza level reading room has been named the Auriemma Reading Room to honor the Auriemma family.
