New Publications Celebrate Edwin Way Teale and Leonard Everett Fisher

The University LIbraries' Archives & Special Collections has recently supported the publication of two new books:

  • Leonard Everett Fisher: A Life of Art with an introduction by Norman D. Stevens was unveiled at November's Connecticut Bookfair. The heavily illustrated book includes essays by Mr. Fisher and Patricia J. Cianciolo and a description of the Fisher Papers in the Northeast Children's Literature Collection by Ellen Embardo. The book may be ordered from the Dodd Center for $65 until January 31, 1999 and for $75 after that (plus $5 postage). A signed edition of 50 copies with an original title page sketch by the author is available for $150. Profits from the book will be used to support the Northeast Children's Literature Collection. For more information or to purchase a copy of the book, contact Jean Cardinale, 860-486-6346.
  • The UConn Co-op has reprinted Edwain Way Teale's A Naturalist Buys an Old Farm. The book includes a new introduction by nature writer Ann Zwinger and features a cover designed by Wendell Minor. Published under the Bibliola Press imprint, a new Co-op venture focusing on the reissue of out-of-print books, the book is distributed by the University Press of New England. It may be purchased for $16.95 at the UConn Co-op; royalties will support the Edwin Way Teale Fund in Archives & Special Collections.
