Lawrence H. Summers Lecture

Lawrence H. Summers, Secretary of the Treasury, will present the second Greenwich Capital Markets Lecture on September 22. Mr. Summers assumed his current position on July 2, 1999, following the resignation of Secretary Robert E. Rubin, under whom he served as duputy secretary since January 1995. A native of New Haven, Mr. Summers served on the faculties of MIT and Harvard and on the President's Council of Economic Advisors. He held several positions with the World Bank prior to joining the administration in 1993. The lectureship is endowed by Greenwich Capital Markets, Inc. for the purpose of bringing internationally known economists to campus to speak on the topic of international commerce. Admission to the lecture is by invitation only.
