One Card Information |
In May
2003, we replaced the old off-line VendaCard system and in partnership
with the One Card Office, implemented a state-of-the-art on-line card
program.
The University One Card Program has been designed to offer the University
patrons a convenient and cost effective alternative to cash/coin for
photocopying and printing. In addition to being a more secure way to
store your money, students, faculty, and staff can also use the card
for purchases at any location that accepts the University One Card.
There are a variety of services available at the Homer Babbidge Library
and the Music & Dramatic Arts Library for which the card may be used.
All photocopiers, print stations and microfilm readers will be set up
to accept the card, but will also accept cash/coin for those patrons
not eligible for the One Card program.
UCONN COMMUNITY MEMBERS
Any UConn community member (Staff, faculty, student, etc.) that is eligible
for a University of Connecticut ID card can participate in the Library
card program with a Husky Bucks account. It is a debit account that
allows you to make purchases on campus without having to carry cash.
Information about the Husky Bucks Program is available from the One
Card Office at 486-3129 or via their website www.onecard.uconn.edu.
UCONN DEPARTMENTS
University departments are able to open accounts in order to get the reduced
rates for copying and printing. Payment will still be made by transfer
voucher (form BO-20) at the IT Services Desk and money deposited
on the card account will only be valid at the Homer Babbidge Library,
and the Music & Dramatic Arts Library. Departments interested in participating
should fill out the Department Card application
and return it to the IT Services Desk for processing.
There is no limit to the number of accounts a department may have, but
account costs have changed from initial projections. This and other
information is available in the Department/Grant
Fund User Information Guide. Department accounts must be in compliance
with University regulations regarding grant monies and state funds.
It is the individual department's responsibility to ensure this compliance.
We recommend that each department designate an individual who can be
a contact person for their department (or account) to facilitate account
transactions.
LIBRARY BORROWERS In order
to borrow books and place recalls or holds, borrowers must have a library
card. For UConn Community members, this is their University ID card.
Library Borrowers will need this new card in order to be able to copy
or print at the reduced rate. Information about becoming a Library borrower
or upgrading your existing account is available from the HBL Circulation
Services Desk (486-2518).
