It is not 'normal' in the sense that it was not what was intended, but it
is regrettably what happens. I will fix it.

Do you have all 18 N_xxxx.dat files in the oclcapps\illmewin directory? If
not you can copy the ones which do not exist from the data disk provided
with the original Clio installation disk set.

Do you know if you had *all* of the output file names checked before you
upgraded to the new version?

You can send me a note directly in reponse.

Hi,
I joined this list and received confirmation on Jan. 30. So far I
have not received any posts. I guess you just aren't very active?

I do not have a statistics package yet, but am considering Clio.
One thing I don't understand is the Microenhancer, since I don't have
it yet either. Doesn't it actually slow down the process when you
have to batch the records overnight? I don't like to ship a book
unti the status in updated to "shipped" on OCLC.

Anyone?
TIA!

Hi,

I'm new to the list, too. I don't see your post answered so I'll try to
explain what the Microenhancer does for us.

The Microenhancer does batch processing as you indicated. This batch
processing does not have to be scheduled for overnight processing --- we
update records several times a day. The benefit of the MicroEnhancer is it
permits the user to enter IL numbers in a batch mode to change record
status. With CLIO in the picture the IL numbers and record changes are
entered in CLIO then uploaded to the MicroEnhancer. The MicroEnhancer then
is set to communicate with the OCLC ILL system. This is an interactive
session that happens much faster than a regular (or manual) session.

We typically have a download session set to "grab" and print our message
file (usually the pendings and conditional pendings on one machine and the
shipped file on the other)around 6 am. When we arrive for work the
requests are printed.

There are only a few types of messages that we view while connected to
OCLC. Most of our updating is done through the MicroEnhancer (and CLIO).
Using the MicroEnhancer will not slow your processes, the only drawback
that I know of when using the MicroEnhancer is that since you're not
"touching" each record there isn't an opportunity to produce a copy of the
updated worksheet to include with whatever you ship. (Y'all (as they say
here) feel free to contradict me if you know this isn't so!)

 Hi!
When we print an ALA form, not all the pertinent information prints.
The printed form does not include the "article" information, such as the
title, volume, and pages. Is this normal? The information has been
input on the form in the database and shows up when we look at the
form. So, why doesn't it print? Please help! Thanks in advance. Lidia

Lidia -

It sound like you need to choose the "Request for Photocopy" radio button
at the bottom of the ALA form before you save it. The other radio
button is for Book Loan.

I know someone posted a solution to the list last week but naturally I
didn't keep it. I downloaded the lending pending into the ILLME and
printed them out but forgot to put them into Clio until later in the day.
Now they are no longer in ILLME because I downloaded other files into ILLME
and wiped out that file. Is there any way I can get them into Clio now?

Do you save multiple sessions on the ILLME for Windows? If you still
have the session saved on the ILLMEW you can actually download it again, and
then convert it into Clio.

Problem is that if you download anything else after you download Pending,
you wipe out the previous download. Anyway, Larry sent me the instructions
so we're all set.

HELP! Wed. night someone turned off my computer without backing out of the
programs and doing a proper shut down. When i booted in the a.m. a disk error
showed up. To make a long story short, i answered no to the prompt about
doing a scan disk, because it said it would change 'things' in the program.
The final error message said something like ...the size of the Clio file is
a different size than reported... When i finally got in, Clio could
not accept the PENDING download, nor the BORROWING savescreens. At this point
i panicked and asked someone more computer savvy to help and we then did a
THOROUGH Scandisk from DOS and said yes to the message about fixing the
problem. Then, when i booted up this morning, i was able to download the
PENDING file from the day before. The BORROWING savescreens would not
download because i have now lost the savescreen file. When i answered yes to
look for the file, and did a search from the pop-up screen, the screen went
1/2 way blank (just a blank Borrowing Input Files box) and the program is
frozen. the little hourglass does not go away...my computer is disgusted with
me, my programs are on strike, and i'm ready for some Valentine chocolate.
Lots of it. So, in order to break up the ice, i'll have to reboot the
computer without backing out and then i'll be right back where i was on
Thursday morning. Please, someone help while i still have some hair on my

I may be mistaken, but pendings won't disappear unless you download
pendings on top of other pendings. For example, your downloaded pendings
won't disappear if you download conditional/pendings right after you
download pendings.

Actually, you do lose everything from the previous download. That's how i lost
my file. I went back and downloaded a retry/pending before i went to Clio to
Get New Lending Requests.
