Bill,

This error message is due to a "." in the Shipvia field. The problem is
usually created when the method of shipping is set to U.S. Mail. If this is
one of your options for Shipvia then you will need to change it. You will
need to review your requests by going to Administration/Open Tables/Lending
Request and Lending Archive. In your situation you will need to filter for
YesCopy then once you have filtered for these requests you will need to
review the Shipvia field for any "."s.

Judd,

In doing my monthly statistics for Jan. 02, I got the following error
message in "Method Shipped Copies".

Error in preview click 3070 The Microsoft Jet database engine does not

Any ideas on tracking down what it does not recognize?

Hi,

We are relatively new users of the CLIO software, and we were
wondering whether there was any way we could print email addresses or other
patron contact information on the book bands we print for our borrowing
requests.

Looking at Book Bands under "Notices - Customize" in the
Preferences pull-down menu, it does not appear to be possible, but I wanted
to be certain that I wasn't overlooking something.

Thank you very much for any information you can pass on to us!

It is UniqueID. Under Option/Setup Email Field Names you will need to enter the Email field name exactly in the Email field name column then in the Clio field name column enter "UniqueID" without the quotes. Clio Request will then transfer the email docline field information to the Clio Field that is labeled Docline Number in the Review Details screen. At times, the status bar may remain on one value for a very long time, and it may appear that Access stops responding (hangs). However, in most cases when this occurs, Access continues to work on the compact operation. CAUSE When Access performs a database compact operation, it copies each object in the database into a new database. Because different objects have different sizes, some objects require more time to copy into the new database. The value displayed in the status bar indicates the percentage of the number of objects copied, not the percentage of the total size of all objects copied. MORE INFORMATION For example, if your database contains a very large table like the lending request table, the displayed percentage can go up to 90 percent rather quickly and then remain static while Access copies the lending request table, and it therefore appears to stop responding. The 90-percent value indicates that 90 percent of the objects have been copied; it does not indicate that 90 percent of the total processing job is complete. On the Update Lending Request screen select Yes Loan then select the Edit CD Record. On the Edit Loan Constant Data Record screen select New. Enter a name for the constant data record, e.g. NONPRT. Enter the appropriate settings then enter in the Lending Notes field information signifying that the material is Non-print. Once you have completed the record select the button Save Change And Close. When you want to update a Non Material to YesLoan you will need to select the constant data record for this type of material. NGU is having trouble with the ClioRequest Online Patron Status. We have had numerous complaints from our patrons not being able to find items that they have requested on the Online Patron Status. At first we thought it was that the patrons were checking too soon after placing a request (before we had a chance to download the request and order it.) This appears to be the case with patrons using the University's Webmail Pro: IMAP and Hotmail accounts. When using IMAP, the attachments are actually empty. While the CLIO notification system is timesaving on our end, I'm afraid it is actually a disservice to some of our patrons. Below is a note that was sent to Judd earlier about this problem. Perhaps it points to a solution. Please reply. Thanks in advance for your assistance, Melissa Judd, Our system's staff have found a little something which might have something to do with the email problems. In the Mime-version 1.0 of the emails generated by CLIO, the content type is text/rtf. While in other emails that work with both IMAP and POP 3, the content type is text/plain. We are not sure if the rtf causes the empty attachments in IMAP, but we think it might be possible. ----------------- Melissa Eighmy Interlibrary Loan, University of Minnesota 110 Wilson Library 612.624.1806 ========================================================================= Date: Wed, 27 Feb 2002 09:50:56 -0500 Reply-To: Jennifer Block Sender: ILL Records Management Software User's Group From: Jennifer Block Subject: Clio Weirdness Comments: cc: wtyler@pegasus.cc.ucf.edu Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset=US-ASCII Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable Hi, We encountered something really strange on the Borrowing side of Clio. I know about CLIO not reading the leading zeros, but for some reason, we're having a lot of trouble with book titles being found in our database (Voyager). Even with adding an additional zero, it cannot find the record, so we end up typing in the whole title and having to mouse and click on "title" and "search" within the window in Clio. This is really unacceptable, because it happens SO often. Is there something wrong with our setup, or is it just a problem with Voyager (which wouldn't surprise me, frankly)? Any suggestions folks have would be greatly appreciated, as our lender is way disgruntled with trying to use the review function and is talking about NOT doing so anymore (and it took quite a while to convince her to try it in the first place...). :-) thanks, Julia **************************************************************************************************************************************** Julia Graham Interlibrary Loan Coordinator Humboldt State University 1 Harpst St. Arcata, CA 95521 707-826-4889 707-826-5590 (fax) ========================================================================= Date: Wed, 27 Feb 2002 11:25:05 -0800 Reply-To: "Judit E. Are you still having problems? Sometimes we see similar problems to the OCLC one but it is usually caused by one (or more) records that are having problems being sent. When we uncheck these/take them out of the sending queue, the rest of the records get sent just fine. I am not sure what the particular issue with these records is. It seems that we're eventually able to send them, because I never heard further complaints from the person who performs the sending. I can check with her to see what she does, though. This can happen when a lender does not update the record to shipped and the borrower without contacting the lender updates the record to a complete status (Returned, Unfilled, Cancelled or RecCopy) in Clio. When the update is sent to the Microenhancer the update errors out. After this scenario if the borrower performs an archive then the request is no longer in the active table therefore if the request in OCLC moves to the next lender and this lender sends the material the borrower does not have a record to update upon. In this situation the borrower may go to OCLC via Passport and create a savescreen. The savescreen is uploaded into Clio as a new pending. In short you have one request with a complete status in the borrowing request archive and one pending request in the active borrowing request table. In order to avoid this scenario do not update a request to a completed status until the lender updates to shipped. You may need to contact the lender in order to get this done. West Virginia University would like to know if there are any institutions using  both CLIO 3.0 and CLIOWeb.  We would appreciate discussing how this software functions and how satisfied you are with it. Please respond of list off with any discussion. Thanks, M. Yancey

Hello,
We are using Clio 3.0 but have yet to be able to successfully load ClioWeb so I guess you could say we're sorta happy and sorta unhappy. :)
I LOVE Clio 3.0, but would really like our users to be able to check the status of their ILL requests online.  Unfortunately, there's some sort of problem with MySQL and our OPAC (Voyager) that is causing ONLY photocopy requests to appear when a patron checks their record.  Our systems folks have been working for months now (with Perkins et al too) but we are still unable to get it to work.  I'm not sure how other libraries have done with installing and using ClioWeb, but that was/is our experience.

We are running the Clioweb interface utilizing Coldfusion Professional 4.5 on a Win2k Server, with the clio database being replicated from another Win2k server. "This protects the database from web hacking and provides a third backup of the data" Just as a note we also have the Ariel interface up and running with clio 3.0.
