Today I was working with some overdue notices and some patron
notifications(something my student assistants usually do) and I noticed
something I had never seen before.

The book was due 3/16/01 according to OCLC. In Clio when you searched
borrowing requests the first screen that came up said due 3/14/01. I
know that probably happened because we always give ourselves a couple of
days before the date due on OCLC. But when I clicked on the ILL number
to look at the full record, the full record said due 3/27/01.

How does that happen?

How do we correctly format our address in our OCLC constant data
so that is prints correctly on the lending request form in CLIO?

What fields does Clio use to match the Copyright Status Report.

I have the same journal appearing twice on the copyright status
report.

Three of the articles were ordered via FirstSearch through ERIC and
show the EJ number in the verification field and the other two just
show OCLC ISSN# in the verification field. When I tried to edit this
field and the Title it still comes up on two seperate lines.

We have begun using CLIO and are consistently coming across this error
message "Error in Accept Click 91 Object variable or with Block variable not
set," when updating our lending requests. At that point the screen freezes
and won't allow us to proceed. What are some solutions to this problem?

Also, is it possible to to get around having to constantly click
accept/press enter when scanning in an request for updating?

I could handle the occasional stray, but I just had a whole batch -- 29 ILLs
-- come through with the ILL number 0. What causes this and is there an easy
solution or do I have to manually re-enter all of these?

Error in Preview click 2001 You cancelled the previous operation.

Seems to be a software problem. Has anybody else had this problem? Or
know how to fix it?

The entire record comes up, and you can add title, oclc# or whatever is missing. You can reply to the original request in your email. If the patron supplied his/her email address, the REPLY function will direct the message there. This is the problem with ClioRequest: if the patron does not provide the necessary information, it does not work. Our patrons have a problem providing the OCLC number; they seem to prefer the ISBN number. I guess it all comes down to user education. This would avoid the confusion when the constant data fills in a name for those patrons too lazy to both name and email address. We also like the idea that the email provides a unique moniker, unlike Smith, Jones and Wilson. Has anyone tried this? Are their ramifcations we're not thinking of?? I currently use the ID Field in OCLC for that number (for example, #12345). My question is how to handle the same patron using a different ID numbers. For example, Patron Carter has requested items using numbers #12345 and #67890. For matching purposes, should I have more than one patron entry for Carter -- one for each number? How does this affect other functions -- running reports, etc.? Since I'm a fairly new user, I have only one record per person, but it occurs to me that may not be the best way for me to use CLIO. This may be an unusual situation in most libraries, definitely not for our institution. A similar library problem would be a patron who pays for his materials with both a Visa and a Mastercard, which of course have different numbers. Thanks for any and all responses. I use "Borrowing Requests by Department". You can use different account numbers or whatever in this field. If one user charges to different accounts, you can put those into the respective requests' account fields. Make sense? This will not create a problem of duplicate patron records for the same patron. As for charge numbers I would place these in the patron notes field. The patron notes field is not seen by lenders. All other patron fields, notes, address, email, status, dept. etc. only display to the borrower in OCLC. In Clio, all fields display. So, if I understand what Judd is saying is that if the email address is used in the patron name field, in OCLC, it will display to the lender, thus advertising that patron's email to anyone who cares to look.
