Leonard Everett Fisher: A Life of Art is a narrative and visual testimony to the work of this prolific artist, author and illustrator whose career has spanned more than 50 years. Mr. Fisher is perhaps best known as the author and/or illustrator of more than 260 books, many of them non-fiction, for children. This book includes the text of his own "Creative Connections" lecture that describes in detail the events surrounding the entire body of his artistic work. It also includes an evaluative essay, "Celebrating Leonard Everett Fisher," by Dr. Patricia J. Cianciolo of Michigan State University. Those essays are accompanied by 64 color illustrations representing the entire range of his work. Also included are a brief statement about the Fisher Papers at the Dodd Research Center of the University of Connecticut Libraries and a selective bibliography of his books and works about him.
