Program Proposals Sought For 2008-2009
For the 2008-2009 academic year funding for the Human Rights Initiative Program will
continue with support from the Office of the Provost and Vice-President for Academic Affairs.
The funding available for this year will be $15,000. Funds will normally be limited to a
maximum of $2,500. Under exceptional circumstances, the committee may approve a higher amount
depending upon the significance of the speaker or event.
We hope that you will want to develop a program for the fall or spring semester of next
year. The proposal deadline for 2008-2009 is March 31, 2008 and is approaching very quickly.
We expect an enthusiastic response again this year. The criteria
and application for funding are both available
electronically (63 KB, PDF version).
In order to help you with your planning, we are continuing to maintain a calendar of
events. This helps us track and publicize events as well as trying to avoid scheduling
multiple events on the same date. The calendar of events can be found on the
Human Rights Institute website.
Should you schedule events, please send information about the name of speakers, topics,
dates, and time to Rachel Jackson.
You may also wish to submit the information to the University's central events
calendar.
If you have questions about the criteria or application form, please call or e-mail
