Drama

• Copyright Law for Theatre People by Louis E. Catron, Professor of Theatre, College of William and Mary. Also appears in Theatre Sources Dot Com: A Complete Guide to Online Theatre and Dance Resources by Louis E. Catron. Music Library Reference PN 2052 .C38 2001, Chapter 11 ("Copyright Law for Theatre"), pp. 191-215. Explains basic copyright concepts as they relate to theatre and provides dozens of relevant URLs.

• Getting Permissions (from UT Austin's Crash Course in Copyright)

  "Assuming the work you wish to use is protected, your use is not a fair use or otherwise exempt from liability for infringement, and the work has not been licensed for your use online, you need permission. Now what?" Gives an overview of organizations and next steps. Includes music, plays, images, etc.

• Guidelines for Educational Uses of Music Developed in 1976 by the Music Publishers' Association of the United States, Inc., the National Music Publishers' Association, Inc., the Music Teachers National Association, the Music Educators National Conference, the National Association of Schools of Music, and the Ad Hoc Committee on Copyright Law Revision. • PD Info: Music in the Public Domain 

Explains PD and helps identify public domain songs and music. Points to other resources. Also discusses royalty-free music (for presentations, advertising, etc.).
