Welcome to Homer Babbidge Library Media Reserve Services

What's New?

Video and DVD Reserves are now processed by the Homer Babbidge Library Reserve staff along with electronic and traditional course reserves.

Your new contacts are:

Kim Crockett, Reserve Processing Assistant, 860-486-5781, Kim.Crockett@uconn.edu

Jo Ann Reynolds, Reserve Processing Supervisor, 860-486-1406, Jo_Ann.Reynolds@uconn.edu

Please note that Reserve requests for Fall 2007 submitted after August 10, 2007 may not be processed by the beginning of the semester. At other times submit your request at least 10 days in advance.

Media requests are sorted by date needed and processed on a first-come-first-served basis.

Avoid the influx of requests at the start of the semester and submit your list early. Mid-term is the best time to submit requests for the following semester.

Please note that media requests do not reserve video theaters. You must use the video theatre booking form to reserve a theater.

Reserve Request Form

Storrs Faculty will use this form to submit reserve requests for the UCONN Libraries' audio/video tapes, DVDs, or instructors' personal copies.

Faculty from the Music Department and any Regional Campus need to place media on reserve at their respective Music or Regional Campus Libraries.

Please do not submit your own ICE requests for media from regional campuses.

If a title is not in our collection, use the Reserve Request form to tell us what you'd like the library to purchase for your class. We will do our best but arrival time can not be not guaranteed.

Copyright Compliance

The Homer Babbidge Library cannot accept materials that have been copied without the written permission of the copyright holder. This includes copies of television broadcasts or unauthorized duplicates of feature films or documentaries.

Reserve Media Circulation Policies

Media can be charged out by patrons for a 3 hour loan. Two hours before the iDesk closes media may be checked out overnight and is due back one hour after opening the next day.

Except for the faculty member who placed it on Reserve, media reserved for a specific date may not be checked out the day before or the day of the specified reserve date.

Faculty for whom the media is reserved may check it out for up to 24 hours provided there is no date conflict with other faculty reservations. The same media may be on reserve for multiple classes but double booking by different faculty for the same date is not permitted.

Faculty for whom the media is reserved and who need the media for more than 24 hours must make special arrangements with Reserve staff.

A student or TA may borrow reserve media on behalf of an instructor if registered as the instructor's Proxy Patron. All above circulation policies apply.
