Reserve Locations

Print course reserve material, for most Storrs courses, is kept on the Plaza Level of the Homer Babbidge Library. Physical items for Storrs music classes are held at the Music and Dramatic Arts Library. The Pharmacy Library maintains a class reserve service for the School of Pharmacy courses. If you are taking courses a Regional Campus see contact information for staff that can assist with details about their physical reserve.

At the Storrs Babbidge Library, lists of items on reserve are kept in notebooks (See image to the left). The list indicates if an item is in paper, electronic, or a media format (see examples at bottom of page). To use the online request forms go to Reserve Home.

What does the Reserve List look like?

At Storrs, lists are put in the notebooks in alphabetical order according to course department abbreviation. Check marks are put on the entries on the list which have already been processed. If the list shows a check mark next to "Access: Electronic", then the material is in WebCT. If the list shows a check mark next to "No of Copies" and "Access:" reads Paper then the material is behind the desk or may be checked out to another patron.

Material that is not in WebCT either has a library call number, or is assigned a call number (If it is assigned, it will either be a "P" followed by four or five digits, or a "B" followed by four or five digits. If it is a regular call number, e.g., KF2995 C74 2000, or like the number in the image below, simply write down the call number and bring it to the desk. If it is a P or B number, use one of the small cards provided to write down the P or B number, your name, and bring that to the desk.

If a chapter is WebCT, the title will include the text within the "Book Chapter" or "Journal Article" field of the list.

Reserve List Examples

Instructors must send two forms to request WebCT access to materials. To use the online request forms go to Reserve Home. (If the Reserve Request form is filled out under Steve, then the WebCT Online Request form should be filled out under Steve not Stephen).
