Journals

The Libraries’ journal collections arrive in three formats: traditional print on paper, of which there are some 7,000 current and some 75,000 retrospective subscription titles; microform reproductions of primary newspaper, magazine, and rare journal materials, of which there are some 1,000 titles; and an ever increasing array of networked electronic facsimiles, of which there are currently over 27,000 titles.

To foster information access, the Libraries favor electronic facsimiles, whenever that option is available.

Traditional paper, microfilm, and the most stable eJournal subscriptions are recorded in HOMER, the Libraries’ online catalog.

All networked electronic subscriptions (both stable and unstable) are recorded in the Libraries’ eJournal Locator.
